GTL company will take part in competition of the United Nations Secretariat “Momentum for Change”

Environmental pollution is one of the most pressing problems of our time, therefore, the world community began to take action.

The Russian government was one of the first who plans to fulfill the Paris agreement on climate. In confirmation of this was proposed existing plan of implementing measures for the ratification of the Paris agreements and further actions for its realization.

Let us recall, that the Paris agreement concluded as part of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, regulates measures for reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere from 2020. The agreement was prepared during the climate Conference in Paris adopted by consensus on 12 December 2015, but not yet signed. President of the COP 21 UN Climate change conference and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, said that this "ambitious and balanced" plan became a "historic turning-point" in the way of slowing global warming.

On the 30-th of March 2015 The Russian Federation has sent to the Secretariat of the UNFCCC information on the contribution of reducing emissions in 2030 by 25...30% from 1990 levels by taking into account absorptive capacity of forests.

By 25 April the UN Secretariat selecting applications for the competition "Momentum for change", in frames of which participants need to submit innovative projects that are already achieving real results in moving the world toward a highly resilient, low-carbon future. The winner will be honored at a UN conference on Climate Change, which will be held in Morocco from 7 till 18 of November 2016.

In 8 of April 2016, the company "GTL" has made a decision to participate in the contest UN “Momentum for change” with the provision of all innovative projects that are already achieving real results in moving the world toward a highly resilient, low-carbon future.
