RBK. The Russian government has approved the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. 

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree, which endorsed the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, said in a statement on the government website.

The document was adopted on 12 December 2015 in Paris at the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN framework Convention on climate change.

The report on the Russian government website states that the strategic goal of the Paris agreement - hold the increase in global average temperatures by the end of the XXI century within the "far below" 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial indicators and "the efforts of the application" in order to limit the temperature rise at 1.5 degrees Celsius.

From Russia to sign the Paris Agreement of the UN charged with the Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin.

The agreement was reached after two weeks of intense negotiations; it will replace the current Kyoto Protocol today.

The document, published on the website of the United Nations, in particular, states that in the period up to 2020, developing countries will receive $ 100 billion a year to solve the climate problem. These funds will be provided by other signatories to the Treaty.
